Natural landscapes: God’s marble game

RED ROCK COULEE, SOUTH OF MEDICINE HAT ALBERTA, CANADA

This is an amazing place. Giant red boulders are scattered everywhere, some mostly whole but many in various states of breakdown. It’s as if God played a game of marbles here a thousands years ago, then left the marbles behind.
What I like about this spot (besides the extraordinary photo opportunities, of course) is there’s pretty much no development — no gift shop and not even a washroom. It’s just you and the breathtaking Alberta prairies. And a whole bunch of amazing boulders.
Nikon D7100, tripod, polarizing filter, graduated density (darkening) filter on the sky.
