Rural landscapes: the barns

FARM BUILDINGS, LUSKVILLE, QUEBEC, CANADA

I dug around in the archives and found this beauty dating back a decade, to when my wife and I visited Ottawa, the capital of Canada. Just across the provincial border, in Quebec, are scenes like this.
Nikon D50, tripod, polarizing filter.

  1. This is a real beauty, Frank. The light on the barn, the red highlighted so wonderfully. And I really like the mountains. It is unusual to find any kind of farm with mountains in the background, not to mention snow-covered.

    • Thanks for the kind words. Those aren’t mountains behind the barn; that’s the Yeardley Escarpment, which dramatically forms the eastern boundary of the Ottawa River Valley. You can drive along the top and check out some spectacular views, especially in autumn. 🙂
